Can insomnia after 40 be caused by hormones?
It can, and it is one of the most overlooked causes. The fall of progesterone and estrogen in perimenopause and the fall of testosterone in men change the architecture of sleep. If the insomnia started alongside hot flashes, irritability or falling libido, the hormonal clock is the prime suspect.
Why do I wake up tired even after sleeping 8 hours?
Because sleeping is not the same as resting. If sleep never reaches the deep stages, the body does not repair hormones, muscles or memory. High cortisol at night, mild sleep apnea and hormonal imbalance are common causes that slip past routine lab work.
Why don't sleeping pills fix insomnia?
Because the pill erases the symptom without touching the cause. Sedation is not complete physiological sleep, and chronic insomnia almost always has roots in cortisol, hormones, glucose or habits. While the cause stays active, the dose stops working and the insomnia returns.

Can anxiety be caused by a vitamin deficiency or a hormone problem?
It can have a physical component, and that deserves to be ruled out before assuming it is purely emotional. An overactive or sluggish thyroid, low B12 and ferritin, dysregulated cortisol, hypoglycemia and the hormonal swings of perimenopause can produce or amplify anxiety. Investigating the body does not replace caring for the mind, it complements it.
Racing heart and shortness of breath without feeling nervous, what should be checked?
A physical symptom with no emotional trigger deserves a physical rule-out first, heart and lungs through medical evaluation, and then the causes that mimic anxiety, an overactive thyroid, anemia, hypoglycemia, too much caffeine and dysregulated cortisol. Only after those rule-outs should the case be closed as anxiety.
Why do I feel anxiety for no reason?
Because not all anxiety is born in the head. Dysregulated cortisol, an overactive thyroid, swinging glucose and bad sleep produce in the body the same symptoms as psychological anxiety. When the attack appears out of nowhere, with no trigger, the body deserves investigation before any label.

Before the next diet, the panel that reveals the locks, fasting insulin with glucose and A1C, TSH and free T4, late-night salivary cortisol when excess is suspected, sex hormones according to phase and sex, ferritin and vitamin D. Weight stalled despite real effort almost always has a measurable lock.
Slow metabolism, what are the symptoms and what should you do?
A genuinely slow metabolism has measurable symptoms, feeling cold easily, fatigue, constipation, weight climbing on little food, and it has measurable causes, a sluggish thyroid, low muscle mass, insulin resistance, chronic restriction and bad sleep. You do not speed it up with tea, you speed it up by treating the cause and building muscle.
Why can't I lose weight even with diet and exercise?

Brain fog is the brain running without raw material or under interference. Do vitamins for focus and concentration work?
